      The 2018 Mills County Fair will be held from Friday, July 13 through Tuesday, July 17, but the commercial building will close Monday night, July 16.

      To reserve a booth in the Commercial Building, exhibitors will pay $50 for the week. If you are only available part of the fair, you can set up for $20.00 per day. All reservations will be by first received and paid. See reservation form for further details. Exhibits will be released at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 16th. If you commit to the full fair you are expected to stay in place until release time.

      For your convenience the building will be open Friday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for set up at that time. Because the dog show will be held Friday morning, and the Community Barbecue will be held Friday evening, set up time is limited to those hours. When you arrive to set up, please check your assigned booth location. Booth locations will be posted at both ends of the commercial building for your convenience. Booth space is approximately 6 ft x 10 ft. We ask you to provide your own tables, chairs, and fans, if desired, for your exhibit. The building will be open again for set up from 8 a.m.- 9 a.m. on Saturday but we encourage set-up on Friday so your booth can be open Friday evening, as fair attendees come to the BBQ.

      Building hours will be: Friday……… 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (set up), open 5:00-9:00 pm for visitors
      Saturday …… 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
      Sunday………10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
      Monday ……… 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

      Make sure to include something in your exhibit to draw people to it (such as guessing how many objects there are in a container, etc.). Although it is not a requirement, it is suggested that there be an attendant in your booth at all times. This will insure good public relations for your business and for the Mills County Fair as well.

      Please return the attached form along with your check for $50 made payable to “Mills County Fair Board” to Mills County Extension Office C/O Commercial Building, P O Box 430, Malvern, IA 51551 before June 22th. This date is very important as the layout will need to be finalized once reservations are in. Space is limited. Booths are rented on a “first come, first served” basis. A reservation is completed and confirmed once the paper copy of the reservation and payment have been received.

      Insurance: To help the fair association meet its risk management requirements, vendors must provide proof of insurance. You must provide commercial or personal general liability insurance naming Mills County Fair Assoc. as additionally insured in the amount of $1,000,000 in aggregate for bodily injury and or property damages. A copy of your policy must be submitted before you set up. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Please enclose a copy of your insurance policy with registration and payment for your space.

      All property brought onto the Mills County Fairgrounds is at the vendor’s risk. Mills County Fair Assoc. assumes no liability for any damage or injury to any property of the vendor or vendor’s employees. Insurance must be in full force and in effect at all times when vendor is making use or occupying in any manner the premises or carrying on any activities associated with or incidental to the use of the premises.

      Taxes: If applicable, Vendors are responsible for collection and payment of Iowa 7% sales tax. If you do not have an Iowa sales tax number, a temporary permit may be obtained by contacting the Iowa Department of Revenue and Finance, Council Bluffs, IA 1-800-367-3386.

      Fair Acceptance: Applications will be considered accepted upon deposit of the booth check and confirmation from the coordinator (please include your email). All unaccepted registrations will be returned with fee attached.
